Pt 8 – Equipping Royal Priests

Teaching, The Restoration Series

Once the average believer like you and me begins to grasp the extent of our priestly work, we can feel a bit out of our depth and wonder what we are taking on. As George Bernard Shaw observed, “Liberty means responsibility. That is […]

Pt 7 – Bread & Wine, Water, Oil & Hands

Teaching, The Restoration Series

“But What of our Traditions?” You may be finding you have some strong internal reactions as you work through these issues, especially if you’ve been raised in “traditional” churches, where the priesthood has been strictly limited to the man in […]

Pt 6 – The Sacraments

Teaching, The Restoration Series

Sacraments are the sacred acts or ceremonies that we are all to perform as priests. We’ve just seen that the Law’s sacrament of burning incense foreshadowed the call of every believer in Jesus to prayer, and the burnt offerings foreshadowed dedicating […]

Pt 5 – On Being Priests

Teaching, The Restoration Series

Definition As we have seen, the history of the word “priest” is chequered.  Derived from the Greek word “presbyter”, or elder, it is taken by most professing Christians today to mean: (i) the man in charge of a congregation, (ii) […]

Pt 4 – On Being Kings

Teaching, The Restoration Series

Let’s be absolutely clear – for Christians, “kings” here is a generic term for the majesty of men and women, both made in the image and likeness of God. Here are five Biblical kingly essentials: 1. Kings Choose Freely As we saw […]

Pt 3 – Reigning With Him

Teaching, The Restoration Series

Some time ago I heard a preacher speaking on God making us “kings and priests”.  He explained the difference between a king and a priest and the tension between the two roles.  Kings, he said, are to function in the […]

Pt 2 Melchizedek and The Royal Priesthood

Teaching, The Restoration Series

Consider your true calling, brothers and sisters in Christ: You are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR GOD’S OWN POSSESSION When Peter first wrote these words to the Early Church, the Jews amongst them […]

Keeping the Wine Without Jumping Ship – Pt 1 Early Church Structure

Teaching, The Restoration Series

One of the hall-marks of Early Church Structure, as described in the Book of Acts and Paul’s letters, is an extraordinary simplicity. Today, however, instead of one church like a body with many diverse members, as described in 1 Corinthians […]

THRESHING HOUR
Armageddon & Babylon the Great

Dreading Armageddon and Babylon the Great? This battle will be an overwhelming victory for Israel and the Jews, preceded by a revival. As for Babylon the Great, it is much older than Creation - and much larger and more pervasive than we may have suspected.

_______________

The mark of the beast is not about who you are but about who he is and how you are living.

RECENT ARTICLESReally? These Historic Palestine maps are a blatant lie, parading in plain sight, for all who haven’t yet learned relevant history and, as George Santayana predicted, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”.

For years we have been taught  we should not speak against our church leaders, that it was a sin to not support them – to question their leading was to question God! …If God was to forbid them questioning their leaders’ leadings, they would be forever trapped.

We are pro human rights for all. Some people don’t believe that “all men are created equal. Here’s what we mean”

Given the present world-wide media focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, it seems odd to me that so little background analysis to these events is being offered.

Jesus constantly urged His disciples to trust all the OT prophecies. He particularly  pointed to Daniel the prophet.

So much unrest with riots. How much thought do the rest of us give to keeping our political freedoms? We’re born free but do we know how to stay free?

Our peoples becoming one was never to be at the expense of either Maori or Pakeha. Rather, it was to make us all the richer for being supported, and defended, in all of our diversity and cultural inheritances.

Throughout Israel’s long and storied history, every year every Jewish child learned about empires in their annual festivals. Do we understand our roots with them as we should?

It seems obvious that the fabulously, and often ostentatiously, wealthy Arab nations could easily resolve the Palestinian refugee crisis so why don’t they?

We often read or hear it said today that the Jews are the “colonisers” in the Middle East. Take the names – a Jew comes from the land of Judea; an Arab from the land of Arabia. However, let’s consider the big picture.

There are two revealed blue-prints for church structure. First, as outworked by Jesus with the Jews and the second by Paul  among the Gentiles. We will see that despite being in very different cultures, they are identical structures.

We have to commit ourselves to respecting and being patient with each other as we take the time necessary to follow as many steps as become necessary of the seven in the Biblical process.

What’s propitiation? It’s one big word but well worth understanding because it perfectly explains why Jesus died and why we need Him.
